Professional Summary

Dr. Abhishek Sharan joined the Department in the year 2008 and is presently working as Associate Professor in the Dept. of Biochemistry and Biochemical Engineering.  He has completed his Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology (Biochemical Technology) in 2008 from Allahabad Agricultural University–Deemed University, Allahabad and Master in Technology in Biotechnology (Bioprocess Technology) from SHIATS, Allahabad in 2010 and Ph.D. degree from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (NIT), Allahabad. He is teaching and guiding under-graduate, Post-graduate and Doctoral students. He is actively involved in the area of production and optimization of industrially important biomolecules (biocatalysts, organic acids etc.), evaluation of antimicrobial activity of Indian medicinal plants, Ecotoxicity of nanoparticle in aquatic environment. He has also participated in national and international conferences/seminars/workshops and published high impact papers in reputed journals.

Teach and develop laboratory skills in students related with upstream and downstream processing, enzyme production, enzyme kinetics, protein and enzyme purification by different methods, fermentation and enzymatic hydrolysis etc.
