OVERVIEW

The Centre for Human Resource Development (CHRD) of SHUATS established to encourage, guide, counsel and train students of the University to become competent godly professionals and leaders to serve the nation most efficiently and effectively with the highest level of commitment, honesty, loyalty and integrity.

Vision
A large number of young men and women from all backgrounds and with a value-based mindset must be trained to build a New India. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SHUATS, has continuously drawn the attention of the staff and students towards the positive and proactive role that the University must play in producing professionals and leaders to serve the country most effectively. The professionals are required to prove their mettle by succeeding in competitive examinations, viz., civil services, GATE, CAT, CDS, JRF, SRF, ARS, NET, and so on, and show themselves to be ready to serve the society and the nation in the challenging circumstances. They must also be trained through various personality and leadership development programs. The following steps have taken to realize this purpose.

CHRD Committee
A core committee is constituted under CHRD to facilitate the overall development of the University students.
The Director CHRD serves as the chairman of the Committee and institute/college/school deans and their representatives are members. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor is the Patron, and Pro VCs, Registrar and concerned directors are the advisors of the Committee. CHRD monitors the functioning of human resource development activities of every institute/college/school / department.
CHRD directly conducts training for civil services examinations regularly in association with internationally competent personals and training institutions.
Two periods have been allotted every week for every class in the University exclusively for CHRD to impart required training for all students.
CHRD equipped with a smart office, classroom facilities, library and space needed for the purpose.

Institute/College/School/Department Committees
Each institute/college/school of the University also has formed a committee with School Dean as the chairperson.
The committees of each institute/college/school are coordinating with CHRD intending to increase the number of students qualifying competitive examinations such as civil services, ARS, JRF, SRF, NET, GATE, CDS, etc.
Each department under the institute/college/school has also formed a committee with the Head of the Department as the chairperson.
The school and department committees conduct regular training, group discussions, seminars, and mock tests, etc. for students to qualify for the said exams.
They also help CHRD to identify competent professionals from within or outside the University to impart instructions to the aspirants.
These committees operate to help CHRD with the mandate to train students in such a manner that they are employable and also able to qualify competitive services examinations of the country.

CHRD-Nirmaana Students Club
Inspired by the vision of CHRD some students of the University has taken the lead and started a students’ club named ‘Nirmaana’ under CHRD.
Nirmaana has formed separate subcommittees responsible for facilitating specific training programs for UPSC, GATE, CAT, JRF, etc. with the active participation and involvement of the students.
Appointed students’ representatives in all classes of the University, who are committed to taking an active role in coordinating the students of their respective classes and with CHRD for conducting training programs, workshops, seminars, etc. most efficiently and effectively.
Several seminars, workshops, webinars and zoom meetings led by reputed speakers and training organizations and various competitions are being organized by the club.

Ongoing activities -
NIRMAANA - CHRD SHUATS, is currently organizing daily classes for various competitive exams including UPSC are held on MONDAY to THURSDAY at 8 PM. Students discuss, prepare and present various topics related to current affairs, history, polity, etc.
Along with these classes, NIRMAANA also organizes weekly classes on Thursday especially for personality development and leadership skills during the dedicated periods assigned every Thursday for CHRD activities, currently, all classes are Offline.
Apart from this, NIRMAANA has made various committee groups like CAT, JRF, SRF, etc., these committees act as a common platform to share and discuss knowledge related to various examinations.

NIPA (28th March 2019)
CHRD in collaboration with NIPA GENX organised a seminar to guide students on JRF, SRF &ARS. The seminar was focused on online database software aiming to provide a rich question bank for better analysis of the preparation of students.
Ikhtiyaar (1st March 2019 to 2nd March 2019)
Inauguration of Nirmaana Club under CENTRE FOR HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT(CHRD) SHUATS Prayagraj. The prize distribution ceremony was followed by award-successful candidates of a quiz, JAM, poetry, tug of war, treasure hunt, and sketching.

Bring Smile Organization (6th April 2019)
It was our 1st drive in collaboration with B.S.O., new clothes, raw food, and other stuff were brought for the Nobel cause. The collection point was the central library at 10:00 a.m.

Mr. Daniel Varghese (25th November 2019)
On this day, at 5:30 pm Mr. Daniel Varghese renowned speaker and a successful international business leader talked about leadership and business to motivate all on how to become a trillionaire in the CHRD hall.

Student of the Year 2019 (28th November 2019 to 29th November 2019)
Nirmaana Club organized the University-level Student of the Year Programme to facilitate the view on the overall personality development of the contesting candidates.

BYJU'S seminar (28 November 2019)
The learning app along with NIRMAANA CHRD SHUATS, organised two days orientation workshop on 'how to crack IAS' in SHUATS. SP Jha vice president of BYJU’S was the guest speaker, he told students about tips and tricks to crack India's most prestigious exam UPSC. The event successfully ended with the distribution of exam guides issued by BYJU'S among the students.

Leadership Development for Building the Nation (20th February 2020)
The seminar was organized by NIRMAANA-CHRD SHUATS at the university auditorium. Seminar started at10:00a.m and lasted till 5:00pm. Many people participated in it.
Prof. (Dr.) P. J. George, Director CHRD was the chief guest. He motivated the students of SHUATS, to become partakers and leaders in building the Nation.

Covid Awareness (19 April 2020)
The event was organized by the NIRMAANA club. The members made videos regarding the issue, and organized meetings on their level to ensure the message reaches one and all. They suggested easier steps by providing facts checks and making all procedures simple by letting people know about basics such as COVID protocol, hygiene, and self-awareness technique.

Independence Day Activity (15th August 2021)
The event was organized by NIRMAANA CLUB-CHRD on 74th Independence Day (15 August 2021). The club members took initiative to do the activity online mode due to covid-related protocols and managed to connect with all the members of the club. The club members represented the national flag as an emblem behind.

National youth day (12TH JANUARY 2022)
On this day, National Youth Day or Vivekananda Jayanti was celebrated to focus on the youth of the country to make them aware of the responsibilities towards humanity emphasizing that the future of the country is with the youths.

O Ri Chiraiya National Girl Child Day (24th JANUARY 2022)
Our committee conducted an online artwork competition on the occasion of the purpose of the event was to create general awareness regarding the girl child through artwork making.

Mentorship Programme (10th MARCH 2022)
The event was organized by CHRD NIRMAANA for the welfare of students in which a social reformer, political columnist, and Indian Christian philosopher Dr.Vishal Mangalwadi motivated the students toward the agriculture-related problems across the country and to find a solution.

CAREER GUIDANCE SEMINAR (07TH APRIL 2022)
A career guidance program was organized by CHRD Nirmaana in association with Agri Coaching Chandigarh. It was a great opportunity to hear the agriculture science specialist Dr. Deepak Wadhwa. It helped students to empower themselves and explore different career paths.
