Professional Summary
Dr.K.P .Rao, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry ,Joined the Department of Biohemistry (Then AAI-DU) in 2004 and later transfered to Biological Sciences. He has earned PhD. in Biochemistry from Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, and Allahabad. Dr Rao actively engaged in teaching Research, at the Department of Bio chemistry and Biological Sciences, for the last 15 years. Dr.Rao Research Interests focuses on mechanisms that enable crop plants to thrive in sub-optimal soil conditions viz., salinity, low water or low nutrients. A particular strength of research is the integration of cell biology with whole plant physiology. The ultimate applied aim of his research is to develop technology & crop varieties with improvement of yield on such soils. Successfully guided over 38Masters. Authored and Co-authored over 15 peer reviewed research papers. Dr.Rao is a member of scientific societies viz., ASBMB,ACS-USA, Society for Glycobiology-USA.,society of biological chemists, India and IUPAC,ADNAT,UPAAS-U.P; Asian PGPR society,USAUttar Pradesh Academy of Agricultural Sciences (UPAAS)-India,Society for applied Biotechnology (SOAB)-India ,Society of Biochemists ,SHIATS-Allahabad-India ,Society of Biologists , SHIATS-Allahabad-India ,International Association of Vegetation Science (IAVS)-U.K
