Professional Summary
Genitha Immanuel is an Agricultural Engineer graduated in the year 2000, from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. She worked as Research Associate (2000-2001) in the Department of Agricultural Process and Food Engg, AAI, Allahabad. After completion of Masters (M.Tech in APFE, from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, in 2003), she joined AAI-DU, Allahabad as an Assistant Professor. Since then she is actively involved in various academic and co-curricular activities. She was instrumental in framing the course structure and syllabus of various UG & PG courses offered by the department. She completed PhD in Food Technology in 2014 from SHIATS, Allahabad.
She has attended trainings on Packaging for Food Products, Thermal Processing of RTE Meat Products and have attended a 21 days Refresher course on Food Processing. She has been a resource person to National Seminars and workshops. She delivered lectures on Food Safety to students at CFT, University of Allahabad. She has coordinated 5 batches of Agriclinics & Agribusuness Training Program for unemployed Agripreneurs for 2 months under Nodal officer, AAI-DU, a scheme under the aegis of MANAGE, Hyderabad, and coordinated 6 batches of Management Development Program of 10 days on Quality Management for students in collaboration with Small Industries Service Institute, Naini, Allahabad.(2005-2008). She has served as a member of the committees of Technical Paper & Paper Screening Committee, Venue Preparation Committee, Technical Sessions Committee for National seminar and Organized one day National Seminar on Application of Sensory Science to Food Product Development and Quality Evaluation. She has published 70+ research papers, popular articles of National & International repute and has presented several research articles in conferences.
Genitha received one patent and 2 more filed with Indian Patent Office. Genitha is specialized in Food Packaging and works on Biodegradable Food Packaging Films. She has successfully guided 8 PhD scholars on Biodegradable Packaging, OnFarm storage Practices, freeze drying, Bioactive compounds extraction and Refractive window drying. She has successfully guided 70+ Thesis work for MTech students. She also works on Development of Low Cost Food Processing Machinaries with the help of Undergraduate (BTech) and Post graduate (MTech)students.
