After completing Graduation in Agriculture (2001) and Post Graduation in Agronomy from Allahabad Agricultural Institute – Deemed University (2003), Dr Rajesh Singh was selected in a campus interview and joined as IB-3 manager in E-Choupal in ITC as a hub incharge, for three districts of U.P. viz., Gonda, Behraich and Basti. He worked in this position for two months and thereafter joined as Temporary Assistant Professor, Department of Agronomy on 9^th September, 2003. He cleared ICAR- NET (Agronomy) in the year 2004 and completed his Ph.D. (Agronomy) from the Department of Agronomy, Allahabad Agricultural Institute – Deemed University in the year 2006. He was promoted to the post of Assistant Professor, Department of Agronomy, AAI-DU after facing an interview w.e.f. 1^st November, 2006. Further, he was promoted to Assistant Professor (Seniour Scale) on 10^th September, 2009 and to the post of Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) on 01 November 2015. During his successfully completed eighteen years of service in the department, he has successfully completed three research projects in the capacity of Principal Investigator, consisting of reputed projects sanctioned by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and Uttar Pradesh Council Of Agricultural Research (UPCAR) and two private sector projects. He has also completed two research projects as Co-Investigator (One sanctioned by UPCAR and the other sanctioned by Department of Science & Technology DST., Govt. Of India ). He has co-authored three books on Agronomy, published by Kalyani Publishers, of which two books have been recommended for reading by Division of Agronomy, IARI. He has attended seven International Seminars and eighteen national seminars/conferences and published sixty research papers in NAAS rated journals. He has successfully completed one orientation programme (UGC sponsored), one summer school, one winter school and one advanced faculty training (ICAR sponsored) of twenty one days each and one ICAR sponsored short course on ten days. During his professional carrier he has been continuously engaged in extension of knowledge to the farmers by delivering Rado Talks and T.V. talks in various agricultural programmes organized by All India Radio (AIR) and Allahabad Doordarshan. He has delivered about seventeen radio talks and ten T.V. talks and is also actively participating in farmers training conducted by the Directorate of Extension, SHUATS. During his short tenure of eighteen years, he has received two reputed awards viz.,Excellence in teaching award-2018, awarded for outstanding contribution in the field of Agronomy in the International Conference on “Emerging Issues in Agricultural, Environmental & Allied sciences for Sustainable Development” Held at SHUATS, Allahabad from 27^th – 29 ^Th November, 2018 and Scientist of the Year Award, 2019 awarded for outstanding performance and lasting contribution in the field of Agronomy in the International Seminar on “Climate Resilience of Agricultural Biodiversity, Technology & Marketing Policy” Held at University of Allahabad, from 9^th – 10^th March, 2019.
