Professional Summary

Dr. Jishnu Naskar is serving as Professor since 2018 in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Engineering of Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture Technology & Sciences. He is a talented teacher and distinguished professor and researcher in the field of Nanotechnology and Nanobiotechnology. He completed his B.Sc. with Honors in Chemistry from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and then obtained M.S. and Ph.D. from the highly prestigious Ivy League institution, Cornell University in New York, USA, which is ranked among the top 10 Universities in the world.

With over 15 years of experience in teaching and research, Prof. (Dr.) Naskar has made significant contributions to the advancement of green nanotechnology, molecular engineering, and agricultural innovation. His academic pursuits have laid the foundation for groundbreaking research in cancer therapeutics, food packaging, and environmental sustainability. He is also recognized as an eminent scientist for his inventions and has been awarded Patents by the Govt. of India. He is also Member of the Editorial Board of international acclaimed publishers on scientific breakthroughs. 

Prof. (Dr.) Naskar’s career is marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence, as evidenced by his numerous awards, scholarships, and fellowships, including the C.S. Lewis Foundation Schiolarship bestowed simultaneously by Oxford and Cambridge University, UK, the  Nanobiotechnology Center Fellowship from Cornell University and the Alexander Maitland Scholarship of Merit, among several others. ​ His research contributions have been widely recognized, with publications in high-impact journals and citations exceeding 200. ​ He has also authored several book chapters and presented Keynote lectures at various international and national conferences, showcasing his expertise in nanotechnology and its applications in medicine, agriculture, and environmental protection. ​

Beyond his research, Prof. (Dr.) Naskar has played a pivotal role in shaping academic programs and fostering innovation at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences (SHUATS). His leadership in establishing the Green Nanotechnology and Agri-Nanotechnology Facility and designing curricula for advanced nanobiotechnology programs reflect his commitment to nurturing future scientists and driving interdisciplinary collaboration. ​

Prof. Naskar’s achievements, contributions, and vision for the future of science and technology is a testament to his dedication to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and inspiring others to explore the transformative potential of nanotechnology.

Lastly, he is also an accomplished musician and was awarded a ‘Distinction’ from the Royal School of Music, London, UK.

Prof. (Dr.) Jishnu Naskar has teaching and research experience of over 15 years.

He currently teaches Nanotechnology, Genomics, Nanobiotechnology, Applied Nanoscience, Advanced Pharmacogenomics, Applications of Nanotechnology, Spectral Hydrodynamics and Advanced Bioinstrumentation at UG, PG and Ph.D. levels.

He has research skills in nanotechnology and nanoformulations, animal cell culture techniques, pharmacodynamics and high end instrumentation proficiency.
