Professional Summary
Amita Verma is working as Professor and principal invetigator of Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry Research Laboratory, SHUATS. She has received her M.Pharm and PhD degree from Hamdard University, New Delhi. She is Faculty Advisor of ACS International Student Chapter, SHUATS and actively involved in organizing curricular and extracurricular activities. She has received prestigious National Institute of Health (NIH, US) fellowship on anti-HIV drug discovery. She is recipient of Senior chemist award and Chemistry festival grant by American Chemical Society (ACS). She has national and international research collaboration with South Ural State University (Russia), Chapman University (US), Eastern Michigan University (US) for discovery of drugs against diabetes, cancer, HIV, neurodisorder etc. She has published more than 100 international research papers in various repute journals and supervised 14 Ph.D scholars. She got more than 20 international award by various agencies as ESMO, ACS, MDS, ISPPD etc from US, Canada, Australia, Spain, United kingdom, singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia etc.

1. Design and Evaluation of Long-Acting Tenofovir-Fatty Acid Conjugates as anti-HIV-1 agents, funded by Natonal Institute of Health (NIH) US, 2018
2. Development of novel controlled release nano-ointment of gentamicin loaded graphene for the treatment of topical bacterial infection, funded by Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi (2011-2015) as Co-PI.
3. Synthesis and antimicrobial activity of hybrids of Bezotriazole-triazole funded by SHIATS, Allahabad for one year (2013-2014) as PI.
